Indie pop duo Bora York have shared their brand new single ‘Colorado’ with a premiere via Clash Magazine.
The Minneapolis, Minnesota-based husband and wife duo (Chris and Rebekah Bartels) have a few releases under their belt, and ‘Colorado’ is a precursor to their upcoming album Emotion Vertigo. The album has been four years in the making, with Chris traversing a full emotional spectrum during the writing of it.
‘Colorado’ is an ear worm of a tune – hooky melodies and catchy vocals. The track is centred around living in the moment, listening to this tune, Bora York certainly give us reason to enjoy the next few.
Chris gives some history of the track: “I spent a year in Denver when I was 20 and it still feels like a second home, even though it’s been a while since I lived there. I’m personifying Colorado in this song – it’s a metaphor for letting go of worry, living life to the fullest. “Now I’m breathing in slow motion” – this is about not letting meaningful moments pass you by without cherishing them, soaking them in.”
